OUR TAKE

The Katana-25 packs everything we love about the bigger Katana amps into a seriously capable little practice amp. Don't let the eight-inch speaker fool you. There's plenty of punch and warmth here, with that familiar Katana response that makes it so enjoyable to play, even when you turn things down.

It covers a lot of ground tonally, from sparkling cleans and bluesy breakup to crunchy rock riffs and full-on high gain, all backed by BOSS's brilliant effects library. And the 0.5W power setting is a real winner for home use, letting you dial in those cranked amp sounds without upsetting the neighbours.

One upgrade we're particularly happy to see is built-in Bluetooth. Katana players have been asking for this for ages, and there's no separate adaptor to worry about. Stream your favourite tracks, dive into BOSS Tone Studio to experiment with sounds, or use the practice tools to slow down tricky passages, loop sections and nail those riffs you've been working on.

For beginners, there's enough here to keep you inspired as your playing develops. For experienced guitarists, it's a great way to enjoy proper Katana tones without firing up the big rig. Either way, it's a lot of amp for something this compact.
