First and foremost, it has the feel of a high-quality piano. The PHA-50 hybrid keyboard has enough weight and resistance for an experienced pianist, with excellent control when you're playing softly and plenty of response as you increase the dynamics. Roland's modelling technology also means the sound responds to how you play rather than simply triggering a series of recorded samples.

The cabinet makes a real difference too. Five speakers project from different positions around the instrument, using the baby grand cabinet to create a much broader and more enveloping sound than you'd expect from a conventional digital piano. Lift the lid, and you'll immediately notice the GP-6's captivating presence in the room, drawing you in with its striking visuals and exceptional sound quality.

Where we'd recommend the GP-6 over an acoustic baby grand is practicality. You get the look and presence of a grand without regular tuning, sensitivity to seasonal tuning changes or the same installation challenges.
