RemO Rings are designed to dampen overtones. Unlike other dampening devices, the Remo "floats" with the head as you play it, allowing the full sound on impact while dampening the overtones. Experiment with the tuning of the drum and the amount of dampening you wish. Easy to use - simply lay it directly on the drum head.
