The Mahalo Rainbow Series Soprano Ukulele is a fun, affordable first ukulele, especially well suited to kids, beginners, and school music programs.
Compact and easy to handle, the MR1YW comes with Aquila Nylgut strings, geared machine heads, and a Graph Tech NuBone XB compensated saddle—useful upgrades that make a beginner instrument easier and more enjoyable to learn on. A Mahalo carry bag is also included.
If you are purchasing a first ukulele for a child or beginner, the Mahalo Rainbow Series is a great choice.
It's small, lightweight, and simple to play, but Mahalo hasn't forgotten what matters when you're learning. The geared tuners make tuning easier, while Aquila strings and the compensated NuBone saddle help deliver a better playing and tuning experience than you'd expect from a very inexpensive ukulele.
We particularly like these for primary school students, classroom programs and first-time players. The bright Yellow finish makes it fun, the bag is already included, and the soprano size is easy for smaller hands to manage.
For someone who wants to try ukulele without spending a lot on their first instrument, the MR1 is a great way to start!
