The Kala KA-C Satin Mahogany Concert Ukulele is a great step up for players who want a better-quality ukulele with a traditional look, comfortable feel and warm mahogany sound.
Part of Kala's flagship Satin Mahogany series, the KA-C combines a concert-sized body, mahogany construction, rosewood fingerboard and Aquila Super Nylgut strings, finished with simple cream binding.
Kala really knows ukuleles, and their Satin Mahogany series has become a bit of a classic for good reason. The KA-C feels simple and traditional, but everything is nicely considered — mahogany throughout the body, a rosewood fingerboard, hi-quality Aquila strings and a Graph Tech NuBone nut and saddle.
We particularly like the concert size for developing players. There's a little more room for your fingers than on a soprano, and you get a fuller sound without losing that light, easy-to-hold ukulele feel.
For adult beginners, progressing students or anyone wanting a good everyday uke that they'll be happy to keep, the KA-C is a really easy one for us to recommend. It's not flashy — it's just a really nice ukulele.
