The Gliga II Violin Outfit represents the next stage in a player’s development, combining higher-grade European tonewoods, more advanced craftsmanship and upgraded components to deliver greater tonal depth, responsiveness and control.
Designed for advancing students, it offers a more expressive playing experience — allowing players to explore dynamics, tone colour and musical phrasing with greater confidence.
Each Gliga II is crafted in Romania using carefully selected tonewoods sourced from the Carpathian Mountains. Timber is independently graded before construction, with tighter-grained spruce chosen for improved resonance and maple beginning to show attractive flame.
These higher-grade materials are allocated to more experienced makers, allowing for greater attention to detail in carving and plate tuning. The result is a more refined, balanced tone with increased warmth, clarity and projection.
Finished in a dark antique oil varnish, the instrument retains an open, resonant character while offering a more mature visual aesthetic.
This outfit is fitted with Opal Gold strings, a synthetic-core set designed to provide both playability and tonal flexibility for developing players.
These strings deliver:
With an aluminium-wound A, silver-wound D and G, and a steel E, the Opal Gold set offers a smooth, consistent feel that supports progression into more expressive playing.
At this level, setup plays a critical role in unlocking the instrument’s full potential.
Before it reaches you, each Gliga II is carefully prepared to ensure it performs at its best. This includes:
The result is a violin that feels more responsive, more controlled and more rewarding to play as technique develops.
The Gliga II is for students who are moving beyond the fundamentals and beginning to shape their own sound.
With higher-grade materials, more refined construction and a professional setup, it provides the control and tonal range needed to support continued musical growth — both in practice and performance.
