The Crafter GAE 6/N is a versatile Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric that offers a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a comfortable cutaway body at an accessible price.
The Grand Auditorium shape sits in a useful middle ground: enough body and projection for strumming, while remaining balanced and responsive for fingerstyle and lighter playing. Add onboard electronics, and you've got one guitar that can comfortably move from home practice to rehearsal and live performance.
The GAE 6/N is excellent for those who want to step up from an entry-level acoustic.
The solid top provides better response and definition, while the mahogany back and sides maintain a warm and balanced overall sound. The Grand Auditorium body is also a particularly useful all-round shape, you can strum it confidently, but it doesn't feel oversized when you're fingerpicking or playing while seated.
It's equally practical if you're starting to perform. The cutaway gives you proper upper-fret access and the onboard electronics mean you can plug straight into an acoustic amp or PA, rather than having to add a pickup later.
Crafter has made variations of the GAE-6 for many years, and that's really what we like about this model: it's a straightforward, well-spec'd workhorse. Solid top, comfortable GA body, cutaway and electronics give you the features we'd look for in an acoustic that needs to cover home playing, lessons, rehearsals and gigs.
